A Reality Check

Do you really need 8 glasses of water a day? If you are healthy, you don't really need anywhere near 8 glasses to stay hydrated. Most people actually get plenty of water through foods and other beverages-even coffee!

A better guideline: Eat instead a balanced diet with plenty of water-rich fruits and vegetables, and drink water when you're exercising, in a hot environment or just feeling thirsty.
