Getting Your House Party - Ready

One golden rule is to plan ahead because it's a lot more fun if you're not stressed out. List all the things you have to do to get your house in order at least a week or 2 before the party. Then do 1-2 chores daily.

Vacuum, dust and remove all dirty dishes from the sink. Make your home smell fantastic, so spray upholsteries with linen spray.

Keep away personals, - anything you don't want to be found.

Focus on the bathroom. Replace regular towels with cotton ones. It's always good to use a brand new soap or pump hand wash too.

Use table lamps, floor lamps, hanging lamps and candles instead of head lightings. Aim for low lights.

Decorate some flowers. If you have a big crystal vase for dining room table, grab an armful of peonies. Consider a single stem like poppy in a side table or a small cluster of fragrant hyacinths in the bathroom.

A bar completely set up is welcoming. Put out those essentials-glasses, liquor, buckets of ice and slices of lemon and lime. Stock up on nice cocktail napkins as well. Guests are free to fix themselves drinks.
